June 2013

Tomorrow we are going on a Museum trip to look at some of their Maoris things for our topic.  We are making our own Maori dictionary of words we know.  We have five pages already!
After our great reading Mrs Phillips has changed the reading groups.  Kakapos and Penguins are now Kiwis and Wekas.  The Learning Detectives come to talk to us and get our ideas.  Y2's have gone from large lines to smaller lines in their printing.
We have started our Learning Commitment Presentations on Thursdays.  We have learned a lot already. We are going to learn our mihi for the Mihi Whakatu day.
Mrs Unahi (Hannan-Brennan) will be in our class for the last 3 weeks of the term teaching us.
Y3's have written a "Moment in Time" and will give it as a speech to the class then two will be chosen to be in the Middle Team Speech Day and maybe for the Speech Finals!  Y2's will do a Poem later.

  1. Great to hear that the Museum trip went well. I look forward to helping Dali learn his mihi - Kapukataumahaka is not too hard to pronounce once you get the rhythm of it.
